Mike Abramowitz is the director of the Committee on Conscience, the genocide-prevention program of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, which seeks to raise awareness among the public and policymakers about the challenges of preventing genocide today. Among its activities, the museum is co-sponsor of the new Working Group on the Responsibility to Protect, which is identifying ways to strengthen the international framework for atrocity prevention. Before joining the museum in 2009, Abramowitz was a longtime reporter and editor for The Washington Post, serving in a number of positions, including White House correspondent and national editor. @abramowitz
